UNICEF GHS Article of the Month: Article 2 (Non-Discrimination): The Convention applies to all children, whatever their race, religion or abilities; whatever they think or say, whatever type of family they come from. It doesn't matter where children live, what language they speak, what their parents do, whether they are boys or girls, what their culture is, whether they have a disability or whether they are rich or poor. No child should be treated unfairly on any basis.

Helen Keller

Helen KellerShe was a deafblind American woman who devoted her life to helping others and achieved the highest academic standards. She travelled the world teaching people and governments how to help those who were disabled and suffering discrimination.

She was the first deafblind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree. The story of how Keller's teacher, Anne Sullivan, broke through the isolation imposed by a near complete lack of language, allowing the girl to blossom as she learned to communicate, has become widely known through the dramatic depictions of the play and film The Miracle Worker

"the best and most beautiful things in the world can not be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart.”
