Greenbank celebrate World Book Day.
Greenbank was once again filled with all kinds of characters from works of fiction today, as staff and pupils celebrated World Book Day in style. Pupils from all years embraced the opportunity to show off their creative skills and much time and thought had obviously gone into many of the outfits. Mr Raikes said that, once again, he was amazed at the effort that both the girls and the staff had gone to. A cake sale was held by the Literacy Leaders, to raise funds for the library. Curtis Watt, a performance poet came in to deliver workshops on narrative poetry and teachers shared their favourite books with pupils at the beginning of each lesson. A competition was also launched for pupils to re-design the front cover of their favourite book.
