What the Girls Say

  • Sophie Year 11

Business Studies is one of my favourite subjects because we do a variety of topics and I will find the knowledge I have gained very useful in the future. I am now aware of what my rights at work are and how different businesses function. I love Greenbank because the teachers are all really supportive and I've made lots of new friends.

  • Anya Year 10

My favourite subject is Geography. I get plenty of support from my teachers and in lessons we always do lots different activities, so it never gets boring. The extra-curricular trips enable us to travel all over the world, for example I am going to Iceland next year.

  • Rebecca Year 9

Languages are important and learning Latin has helped me in other subject areas too.

  • Lois Year 8

I love RE – it has opened my eyes! We learn about different ethnic groups and cultural backgrounds from many religions. I enjoy debating and expressing my opinions on topics such as “how would I feel if I had to go into hiding?”.

  • Fatima Year 11

I love being creative and that is why I opted to take GCSE Textiles. We get lots of support and I really enjoy working independently on different project pieces.

  • Ilaria Year 10

I love History because it is a never ending story. It teaches us the mistakes and victories of war, religion and human life. History didn't just take place in the past, it is being made every minute of everyday.

  • Esmee Year 10

Expressing myself through dance and performance has built my confidence and has given me the opportunity to be creative and to work with like-minded pupils.

  • Cerys Year 11

Art allows me to be creative and express myself. I enjoy working on different pieces and always look forward to lessons.

  • Natasha Year 9

Music is an important subject, it lets me escape and be creative. I love it!

  • Rachel Year 11

I chose Child Development for GCSE as I have always wanted to pursue a career involving children. It has given me the skills and ability to try and follow my career path in the future. I would really encourage anyone to take Child Development for GCSE as it is fun but also challenging.

  • Emma Year 11

Catering is a subject that I really enjoy. Taking it as a GCSE option has helped me gain important skills for the future and it is something I hope to continue as a career.

  • Stephanie Year 8

I love Spanish. There is always something new to learn. The teachers are really encouraging and always help us achieve our best.

  • Anna Year 9

I really enjoy French because not only do we learn a different language, but we also learn about French culture and their way of life, which I find really interesting particularly as I have a multi-cultural heritage myself.

  • Laura Year 8

English allows me to express myself; get all my ideas down on paper; create all types of stories like: funny, romantic, sad, active. It allows me to get my thoughts and emotions out and expands my reading and vocabulary.

  • Tilly Year 8

Computing is a great way for my imagination to run wild. I can express it through creating my own games and animations. It is never boring and I always feel challenged with the next activity.

  • Olivia Year 9

Science is fun and I always look forward to lessons. We learn lots of interesting and new information every lesson and get to do exciting experiments.

  • Victoria Year 11

Taking Media Studies as one of my GCSE options has given me the chance to develop new skills and learn the importance of the media in everyday life. I hope to continue my passion for the subject at A-Level.

  • Fleur Year 9

I love PE because there are many opportunities at Greenbank and lots of different sports on offer to choose from. The teachers are all very encouraging and motivational. There are lots of different teams and clubs that are on every break, lunch-time and after school.

  • Sarah Year 9

I love maths at Greenbank because we are challenged in lessons and get to participate in fantastic opportunities outside school. For example, we recently attended the national final of a maths competition in London.
